LATEST NEWS: 1st November 2009 New Figures in for Kidzlikedanny 1 and 2. Click here! 1st August 2009 The songwriters night on the 19th of June was a great success and Kidzlikedanny was able to raise well over the £1000 mark for K Club! Also, July's CD sales figures are now in which you can check out in the brand new section of the site on the link above or by clicking here. 15th April 2009 Friday 19th June 2009 sees another Kidzlikedanny Charity Show. The autistic charity is now in its twelfth year and has already raised over £15,000 for various causes. Details at www.kidzlikedanny.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk This time KLD will be raising funds for the KClub, a special needs after school club from Kingstanding, Birmingham . The show will be held at The Holy Name Centre Club, Birmingham Road , Great Barr, Birmingham . The Songwriters Night will star Birmingham ’s very own Steve Gibbons (The Dylan Project) performing songs written by Bob Dylan. Support from Matt Tyler and David Garside with their interpretations of songs by Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney. Doors open at 7.45pm and admission is £5.00. Kidzlikedanny 2 Featured on Next Big Thing Podcast! Another week, another podcast has kindly featured "Kumbaya My Lord" on their podcast. This time its our good friends at Next Big Thing Podcast. With Kidzlikedanny 2 still in its early stages of release we are pleased to say that exposure has been boosted by 2 local podcast shows Brumcast and Monochrome Museum. Both have picked up The Kidzlikedanny Choir's track "Kumbaya My Lord" and have given the CD a good plug on their respective shows. Caroline 7 which in turn gives way to the old school bluesy pub rock of Crisis
Blues Band with Truth And Lies. Everett come from Dudley with their Sit And
Listen bearing witness to their Snow Patrol influences, Close Your Eyes is from
Leicester folkie Ian Babington, Kristy Gallacher sings Broken Record Player and
sounds like Coventry’s answer to Kate Nash. A more familiar
name, Matt Geary has been around a while winning admirers for his Elliot
Smith/Dylan influenced indie alt-folk. Recently signed to Boy Wonder Records, he
has a new album in the works for later this year, meanwhile his 2006 track
Temperance gets an Andy Wickett remix. I have no idea who Mavoxor are but The
Man Who Wants Everything is very much prog-folk in a good way. Onion Child is
Kidderminster singer-songwriter Ryan Jordan who numbers Robert Johnson, Charlie
Parker, John Martyn and The Bluetones among his influences, and gives good
acoustic blues on The Bailiff while Stourbridge’s Raging Angel are, as the
name might suggest, a rock outfit whose Hole In The Head is pretty standard
stuff for the blues metal genre. Which just leaves Stranger Within, seemingly a
hitherto unrecorded track from local Celtic folklore veterans Quill. Not everything
is going to appeal to everyone, but there’s more than enough here to repay the
